The Safeguard bed

Keeping Children Safe and Secure at Night

The Safeguard Bed  was invented in 1999 for our daughter Katie who has Angelman Syndrome, so we really do have an understanding of the problems faced by many families and carers! With this experience to draw from, we now specialise in designing and building bespoke items to overcome specific sleep problems.

The Safeguard Bed is constructed from Alaska Pine and attention to detail is given to ensure the appearance is of a large decorative cot and is supplied to local authorities, national companies and private individuals.

HOW IT WORKS!

The sides of the bed stand a minimum of 1 metre above the mattress. When the gate is closed the hidden locking mechanism clamps the sections together and removes any twisting, pulling and moving over the whole frame. The child proof lock is operated with one hand by an adult and the wide gate can open 180 degrees for easy access. The bed can be supplied in various heights to suit the child or parent/carer.

The standard Safeguard Bed is supplied with a 3’ x 6’ Visco-Elastic Pressure Relieving Memory Mattress (energy absorbing and temperature sensitive responding to the child's natural body heat)

All locks, catches, hinges etc are manufactured to high standards and are carefully concealed from little fingers! Finally, the Safeguard Bed is finished in childproof lacquer to enhance the appearance and protect the child.

For quality assurance all our products are manufactured to a very high standard and

  • In accordance with The General Product Safety Regulations (1994) and
  • The British Standard BS EN 747-1
  • With the manufacturing and management processes documented for quality assurance.
  • VAT Zero rated for the direct supply to disabled individuals

Healthcare Professionals acknowledge that the Safeguard Bed  is a manageable solution to ensure a child is safe and secure in their own bed.

Enjoy your sleep knowing your child/young adult will not embark on the great escape!
